Get GPS coordinates online — instantly

Need to find my GPS coordinates online? This tool reads your device's location in real time and shows your current latitude and longitude in both decimal degrees and degrees-minutes-seconds (DMS) format, along with your altitude and estimated accuracy. Grant permission once, and the page continuously tracks your position as you move — useful for hiking, field work, geocaching, or simply sharing exactly where you are with someone.

Everything is processed locally in your browser. Your location is never sent to a server, stored, or shared — this GPS coordinates online tool is private by design, and the reading disappears the moment you close the page.

Latitude, longitude, and DMS explained

Latitude measures how far north or south of the equator you are (0° at the equator, 90° at the poles), whilelongitude measures how far east or west of the Prime Meridian you are. Together they form a grid that pinpoints any place on Earth to within meters. Most mapping apps use decimal degrees (for example 48.8584, 2.2945 for Paris), but many forms and navigation manuals expect DMS (48° 51' 29.6" N, 2° 17' 40.2" E). This tool shows my location in both formats so you can copy whichever one you need — no converting by hand.

Decimal degrees and DMS are the same position, just written differently. One degree of latitude is about 111 kilometres; one minute is about 1.85 kilometres; one second is about 30 metres. Understanding the units helps you judge how precise a coordinate really is — and why accuracy matters when you are navigating in the field.

Where can you use live GPS coordinates?

Outdoor navigation. When you are on a trail, at a campsite, or exploring a new city, capture your coordinates so you can share them or navigate back. It is the fastest way to answer "where am I right now?"

Photography and planning. Geo-tag a location for a shoot, record where you stood for a photo, or check the altitude of a viewpoint before you plan a route.

Work and study. Surveyors, farmers, and field researchers use precise coordinates for marking plots and points. Students use them for geography projects and to cross-check map work.

Other tools on this site. Your coordinates feed directly into the Qibla finder, bearing calculator, and sun position tool, so you can work with your exact position everywhere.

How accurate is the GPS location?

Modern phones combine satellite GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell-tower data. Outdoors with a clear sky you can usually get accuracy within 3–10 metres; indoors the signal weakens and accuracy drops. The tool shows your estimated accuracy in metres so you know how much to trust the reading. For the best fix, stand still for a few seconds outdoors, away from tall buildings and dense tree cover.

Because this is a GPS coordinates online tool that never uploads anything, you can use it with confidence anywhere — a private way to find my location that also gives you the precision you need.

Share, copy, and open your coordinates

The tool is built for real use, not just display. Copy your coordinates in the format you need, share them with a friend, or open your position directly in Google Maps for a wider view of the area. Combined with the live accuracy reading, you can confidently record a spot now and return to it later — a handy waypoint for hikes, meetings, or deliveries.

This GPS coordinates online tool works alongside the rest of the site: your current position becomes the starting point for thebearing calculator, the reference for theQibla finder, and the location for thesun positionandlive compass. One accurate fix, and every direction tool on this site uses it.

Why compute coordinates locally?

Many "find my location" sites send your coordinates to a server the moment you load them. This page does the opposite: the GPS fix comes straight from your browser's geolocation API and is never transmitted anywhere. That means no tracking, no logs, and no risk of your position being stored against your wishes — a genuinely private way to find my GPS coordinates online. It is fast, free, and works on any modern phone or laptop with a browser.
